With Fortnite and Content Update #3, Epic Games is never shy to try new things for patch v9.30 certainly shows that in full force. The item on the Air Strike carries heavy aerial support to assist you in fighting.


The fresh product from Air Strike is a strong fresh area-of-effect explosive that calls on a place in a centralized strike. The item is tossed like a grenade and then rockets start to rain from the sky after a brief delay. The missiles are exactly 120 "units" above the target, according to the official patch notes.

Each missile deals 75 damage to players
Each missile deals 200 damage to structures
20 missiles per strike
Random missile placement within a 9-meter radius
Splash damage radius of 3.5 meters

The Air Strike is very powerful, don’t get us wrong, but it’s a Legendary tier item and is very rare to obtain. In several testing matches, we only managed to get the item a single time and only saw it used by others twice. This seems in line with the current drop rates of other Legendary items or the Epic Storm Flip.

For us, its capacity to interrupt stagnant build battles is the most attractive component of this fresh product. Build battles are amazing when both players / all players are going for the kill, but some opponents just want to prolong the fighting. The Air Strike forces the defensive player to move and build for a few seconds elsewhere. The Air Strike is also very useful in the endgame when people are tunneling, sitting in bases or rotating into the circle. It is very useful if u want to third-party a build battle and can get you some easy kills.

Even if you somehow find several of these in a single match, the maximum stack is 2. Sacrificing key weapons or heals to carry a third or fourth Air Strike would be a questionable bet in our opinion.
